#230 – Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 (2015)

From 340,644 votes, Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 Segways is a true diamond in the rough at a 230th place on the list with a score of 8.3.

After six years of keeping our malls safe, Paul Blart has earned a well-deserved vacation. He heads to Las Vegas with his teenage daughter before she heads off to college. But safety never takes a holiday and when duty calls, Blart answers.

Sometimes you really do just find a diamond in the rough. Paul Blart is one of those diamonds. He is a Mall Cop with a fierce attitude and this movie is a fantastic romp through the highs and lows of commercial law-bringing. In the sequel to the critically-acclaimed tour de force, Blart is forced to make hard decisions and has to decide between the glamour of mall coppery and the freedom of a well-earned holiday in the Las Vegas.

Kevin James performs admirably as the lead, not letting up on the high-quality standard set by the original. He acts with a grand sense of gravitas, an imposing and authoritative figure standing steadfast against a garish backdrop of colourful lights and debauchery.

Astride his glorious steed, Blart zooms through this movie like a bronzed adonis of law, delivering justice and witty one-liners to the criminal underbelly of the City of Sin. The dialogue is sharp, the cinematography is clean and the four-act structure of the narrative lends itself to the plot excellently.

I don’t want to spoil too much of this masterpiece, mostly because I haven’t watched a single second of it. Check the tags ♡
